I will be I Always Buy Another Book When I Still Have Ten To Read Shirt teaching students from all over the board, not just from my own school. They’ll make the online classes as big as they’re allowed to be… and I’m cool with that to help out my in-person colleagues – but there is still a practical limit (35 students). It does help somewhat but in-person classes are still way bigger than would allow for physical distancing. Yes, they can. Board is doing so. So all the online students and remote teachers get grouped, leaving the in-person cohorts in the building, who are still subjected to class collapses in order to fulfill class average sizes of 24-28.

The main problem the teacher raised was that an additional teacher was needed to teach the online class thereby dividing that teachers in-person students among the remaining classes. Instead of taking a teacher from every school to do online classes, why don’t all online kids join an online school where the class sizes are equivalent (or greater) than the in-person class sizes? This way you don’t need as many online teachers.
