My friend 20 I Like Wine And My Greynd Maybe 3 People Vintage Shirt years ago was interning for an oil company as an Engineer. She was the first female engineer the company had ever seen. She was placed with housekeeping. Because that’s what women did. She was so lonely. She was in Russia just wishing she could be back in the US. Then she heard someone say “fuck”. The only English they knew. It was music for her. I ask myself a similar question. Whenever somebody forcefully, emphatically insists that I vote, I can’t help but wonder how often there’s an implied “…for [so and so]” in there, how often a person actually cares about the fact that I’ve simply voted for anybody.
