I always drive 20-25 mph in If People Don’t Occasionally Walk Away From Me Shaking Their Heads I’m Doing Something Wrong Shirt a neighborhood or Other areas of pedestrians. People usually tailgate me, I used to feel anxiety regarding tailgating when I was driving a tiny sports car but now I basically drive a tank and I don’t give a shit about who I piss off with my slow driving. Pedestrians first. Driving a vehicle is such a luxury and privilege, it should be treated as such. This is why, if you’re road cycling, you should never, ever let your guard down just because you’re in a “safe” and/or residential neighborhood. Because residential neighborhoods are exactly where people are going to be less careful on the road.

Don’t assume people are being more careful just because it’s a slower speed limit alongside a nice neighborhood. I live on a hilly road and the limit is 35mph (which is still high in my opinion). Some people easily go by at a solid 55 with no care about anything or anyone. I’m very concerned.
