This is true Original We Are All A Little Weird Shirt but I also think American culture is very centered around immediate gratification and self-benefit. I think a lot of people don’t participate because they don’t feel it really changes their immediate surroundings. The problem with a lot of nonvoters is that they either think they have no power, or they straight up don’t care. This is the first time that I’m voting ever, and I previously didn’t because I didn’t think it mattered. I live in a very red state, so no matter what the state was going to go A red anyways, so what’s the point? Senator, Governor. Statewide contests are just a small part of each election.

No, but if I don’t vote at all then I can’t complain about how things turn out. Plus, who knows how many others in the state are like me – if everyone decided to just vote anyway, it most likely wouldn’t flip the state but it could give a few EC votes to Biden. No matter what “color” your state is, there is more on the ballot than President, Senator, Governor. Statewide contests are just a small part of each election.
